Events Description

The Edmonton International Film Festival… international, independent and eye-opening. For ten days each autumn, Edmontonians feast on all things cinematic. It’s a veritable buffet of the best new indie filmmaking from around the globe. Our schedule includes 50+ feature-length slots, and 100+ short films programmed into feature-length packages. All films screened at EIFF must be Edmonton premieres.

2023

New this year, the Oscar-Qualifying festival will be presented at four venues around Edmonton: Lecore Theatre at the Art Gallery of Alberta, The Muttart Theatre at the Stanley A. Milner Library, Metro Cinema at the Garneau Theatre and the Telus World of Science.

This year’s festival boasts 90 short films and 25 feature films, featuring major titles such as: Anatomy of a Fall (Palme d’or 2023 Winner); Michel Gondry’s The Book of Solutions; the uproarious (and Canadian!) Suze, and Close to You, which marks Elliott Page’s first leading role in six years.

Film fans can enjoy the festival with a range of screening times and ticket options. Plus, enjoy Q&As and their famous Opening Night and Closing Night Galas.
