Events Description
The Edmonton Poetry Festival swirls into town with varied voices and current words all joining together. A dozen events will challenge and inspire, as special guests join local poets. There will be excitement and rapids in the stream, and pools of quiet contemplation.
You can come to listen or share your work at an open mic. Volunteer. Learn in workshops. The river of voices has been flowing for generations—come and share the energy of what’s happening on the banks of right now!
Poetry is a source of energy, entertainment and joy shared by all societies. The Edmonton Poetry Festival celebrates poetry in all its forms. We get people from across the city involved as creators and audiences. Doesn’t matter what age you are, what culture you come from, or whether you fall for slam poetry or jump at reading the classics.
