Introducing Humane Heroes: A New Youth Leadership Program at EHS
We’re excited to launch Humane Heroes, a new hands-on, educational program at the Edmonton Humane Society designed to inspire the next generation of animal advocates and community leaders.
This 4-week after-school club is open to youth aged 13–17 who are interested in animals, leadership, and community service.
Through Humane Heroes, participants will:
🔹 Gain real-world experience supporting shelter work
🔹 Explore career paths in animal care and welfare
🔹 Build empathy, communication, and leadership skills
🔹 Earn a Certificate of Achievement at a graduation ceremony
By empowering youth with knowledge, compassion and responsibility, Humane Heroes helps shape thoughtful, community-minded leaders — both for animals and the people who care for them.
