Events Description
This is your invitation to a free creative night where art, storytelling and water come together in unexpected ways.
Join us for Ocean Futures Lab: A Paint Night Event — a relaxed, high-energy community evening where you can paint, write, reflect, and connect with others through creativity (no experience needed, just curiosity).
We’ll be exploring water as more than something “out there.” From rivers and lakes to oceans and tap water, we’re looking at how everything is connected, and how water carries memory, climate stories, identity and imagination.
What to Expect
All supplies provided
Free refreshments throughout the evening
Creative prompts for poetry, letters and reflections
Optional collaborative group art pieces

Plus: every participant receives a certificate.
Why This Matters
In celebration of Ocean Week and World Ocean Day, this isn’t just a paint night ✨
It’s part of a bigger conversation about water, climate and connection. Even in landlocked Edmonton, water links us to oceans, communities and ecosystems around the world.
Together, we’ll reflect on themes like:
Climate Change
Identity & Belonging; and
Our Shared Relationship with Water
