Events Description
Discover insights into Alberta’s unique connections to Canada’s constitutional monarchy through the frame of a masterful work of art.
The centrepiece of Service, Ceremony and Tradition is the official Diamond Jubilee portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This 320-pound, 10-foot-tall, framed portrait was painted by Canadian artist Phillip Richards to recognize the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign and was unveiled at Buckingham Palace in 2012.
This educational multimedia exhibition explores the naming of our province, the creation of the portrait, the monarchy’s role in our democracy and so much more.
