Events Description
Spill the T is a series of events being hosted by Kirk Centre and Robertson-Wesley United Church in collaboration with the Human Library Project. These events give the 2SLGBTQIA+ community a safe space to share their experiences and have discussions with the community to help build more understanding and inclusive spaces in Edmonton.
Drag – Beyond the Performance is our first event on August 19 from 6pm-8:30pm and will have two parts. The first part will have presenters from the drag community share their stories and introduce discussion topics within the community. The second part is the Human Library portion where the presenters and a few other members of the drag community will be at tables with those discussion topics. At this time, the attendees will be able to get more personal insight into specific topics and be able to discuss them with the table presenters.
Future events are still being organized so topic details are not available yet but all events will follow the same structure.
These events are free to attend and will provide resources related to the communities discussed. There will also be ASL interpreters for the hard of hearing and deaf communities.
