Events Description
Join Nature Alberta, Big Lake Environmental Support Society, and many other naturalist and conservation organizations at Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park Day Use Area for a celebration of World Migratory Bird Day.
Come out and welcome back our spring and summer resident birds as well as birds that will be passing through on their journey north. This year’s theme is “Creating Bird Friendly Cities and Communities.”
We will have presentations and interactive displays at the park and along the boardwalk. If you are a budding photographer, the St. Albert Photography Club is hosting guided walks offering tips on nature photography. Nature Nick will offer guided walks to teach kids and families about the natural features and plant and bird species in the park. The Musée Héritage Museum will be doing a presentation on the History of Big Lake to add a complementary cultural component to the event.
