Events Description

2020 Bluenose Ghosts Festival features:

Africville Ghost Story Experience: This collaboration between the Africville Museum and Alderney Landing is inspired by the stories of former residents of Africville. This unique experience entertains with ghost stories, and educates about an important Nova Scotia community.

Helen’s Shanty – Captured Escape Room Experience: Solve puzzles and gather clues in this family friendly “Escape Experience”, designed by Captured Escapes.

Fireside Ghost Stories at the Creighton Courtyard: Good ol’ fashioned ghost stories by the fire – delivered by The StoryTellers of Nova Scotia.

Mini Putt: The classic game of mini-putt with spooktacular twists and obstacles – A family favourite!

Cemetery Tour by Da Po Po Theatre (separate ticket): The Guided tour features historical stories and re-enactments, such as: The ancestral burial ground of over 100 Mi’kmaq people after the Halifax explosion with two Mi’kmaq chiefs. The story of Napoleon Bonaparte’s third cousin, Catherine Thompson. The inquest that led to her body being exhumed and the resulting trial held in the old town of Dartmouth. The story of the Dunn Family Vault.
