Events Description
The wooded trails at Mountsberg are always beautiful in the wintertime but now we have made them more magical than ever! The Winterlit Trail features a unique and stunning lighting experience with inspirational art installations along the trail. Also, the Illuminated Sugarbush Trail has soft overhead lighting to allow for a beautiful evening stroll through the sugarbush. This experience will include soundtracks from local musicians while you enjoy the beauty of Mountsberg in winter. The Winterlit experience will be offered from Thursday to Sunday evenings.
On select evenings you will be able to add one of our favourite winter wildlife excursions, Owl Prowl! As part of Conservation Halton’s dedication to educating the public about the environment and nature, guided Owl Prowls are offered by Mountsberg’s Raptor Centre staff on select dates – January 6, 7, 13, 14, and February 3 and 4. These mysterious creatures are particularly active this time of year and this additional program promises to lead guests off the beaten path and into the woods to listen for wild owls after meeting one of the resident Mountsberg owls nose-to-beak. Passes for these special walks are limited and can be added to your Winterlit ticket.
Enchanted Evenings
To light up your New Years and Valentines Day, Winterlit will be hosting special Enchanted Evenings with additional entertainment and activities like candle making on Sunday, December 31, 2023, and Saturday, February 10, 2024. Add an Enchanted Evening to your reservation to celebrate these memorable holidays with the ones you love!
What to expect at Winterlit Enchanted Evenings:
Stroll Winterlit’s two illuminated trails with sustainable art installations
Relax beside the Fireside Lounges
Chill out at the licensed Ice Bar
Watch live light and fire shows
Listen to live music
Enjoy local food
Be amazed by the talented magician
Add candle making and create your own beeswax candle to take home as a souvenir
Take home a wood branded souvenir of your visit
Purchase a heart to paint and then hang it on our LOVE display or take it to display at home. Your fee goes to our Animal Care Fund and supports our farm animals, raptors, and snakes.
Add Owl Prowl to your reservation and join Mountsberg’s knowledgeable Raptor Centre staff for a meet and greet with one of the park’s live owl ambassadors, then head out for a night hike to see who’s hooting!
