Events Description
Join us for the 12nd Annual Playwrights’ Festival.
This year we will be presenting two plays in public readings on September 22nd and 23rd.
One will be a sequel to last season’s “Our House” by Murray Furrow entitled “The Boys are Back in Town”, and the other, penned by Ephraim Ellis, who recently gave us “On The Air”, is a comedy about Bigfoot hunting called “Bigfoot in the Park”. Both are comedic in nature, and both playwrights heartily welcome your participation!”
Following a single day of rehearsal, the plays will be presented as public readings followed by question/answer sessions with the playwrights and invited audience feedback, hosted by Artistic Director Simon Joynes.
The Port Stanley Playwright’s Festival is part of the Port Stanley Festival Theatre’s established play development program, which has in the past produced premiere productions of: “Not in My Backyard” in 2013, “Bingo Ladies” in 2014, “Birds of a Feather” and “The Birds and the Bees” in 2016, “Five Alarm” in 2017, “Buying the Farm” in 2018, “Giving up the Ghost” in 2019, and productions of “Our House” and “The View From Here” in 2022.
