Cheap shot! A belligerent trio from the Troy-Rivières wrestling league has snatched the National League gold belt from the champion of champions, Agamemnon! Will the recent retiree climb back into his spandex singlet to defend his honour at the terrible cost of sacrificing his own heiress, Eugénie? This ancient epic, told in the form of a wrestling rumble, will unleash your inner beast!

Twelve imposing wrestlers take the stage to defend this reinterpretation of the Trojan War in Québécois alexandrine verse, the brainchild of the impertinent Hilaire St-Laurent. Fatherly Love will square off against Vengeance in the King of Argos’s heart. The final head-to-head will be heart-rending: there are no winners in war. In 500 BCE, Aeschylus and Seneca warned us against despotism, when rulers hold fast to power at the expense of the common good and future generations. Fortunately, modern humanity has COMPLETELY settled the issue.

Singing, fighting, betrayal… this extraordinary match will make fans out of even the toughest theatre-haters. The electrified audience will be asked to cheer on their favourites and boo the bad guys. It’s catharsis in the ring! Throat lozenges not included.
