Events Description

Born in Niger, Boubé grew up in the village of Iferouane (on the edge of the Ténéré desert), which hosts the most important Tuareg music festival. It is in the hypnotic atmosphere of this village, nestled at the foot of the Tamgak mountains, that Boubé learned music. He sings and plays several instruments characteristic of Tuareg music, a style known internationally as “desert blues” and sung by the Berber nomads of the central Sahara.

Boubé handles the guitar and drums wonderfully. He is a singer-songwriter, and his first album is called Issaktan (2023). His music speaks of peace, friendship and always inspires travel. His melodies, sometimes more meditative, sometimes more rock, leave no one indifferent. Some call him the “Jimi Hendrix of the Sahara” because of his passion on stage. His unique, virtuosic, and heartfelt guitar playing, combined with his legendary charisma, make each of Boubé’s concerts a meditative experience in itself.

Discovered with distinction in 2024 during the Syli d’Or de la musique du monde, this charismatic artist won the Syli d’Argent hands down thanks to his multiple facets. This experience enabled him to gain recognition from the Quebec public, as well as from industry professionals and the music press. He is also the recipient of the Afropop Prize, a recognition from the international professional community, which has allowed him to tour world music festivals in the summer of 2024.

Boubé has the wind in his sails, and the arrival of a new album for the year 2025 only confirms the meteoric rise he is currently experiencing.
