Audio walking tour for 1 to 3 people at a time, starting at the Foyer Fountain. Departures take place every 15 minutes, according to the following schedule: from 5pm to 7:30pm on weekdays, and from 11am to 3:45pm on weekends. You will be able to choose your departure time when purchasing tickets.
Breaking news: Following the winter 2022 protests, we’re hearing that the NAC is about to be INVADED BY TRUCKS again… but this time, they’re smaller! We’re also learning that the vehicles will be driven by children this time around, that audiences will be wearing headphones and that this audio and theatrical pathway will take them on a journey into the meaning of freedom while having tons of fun!
Mélanie Binette, in situ theatre performer and artisan extraordinaire, and her mini-accomplices are inviting us to a unique intergenerational experience. This walkabout will help us see the events of the Freedom Convoy in a new light and explore some unexpected nooks in the NAC’s Elgin Street building. Meanwhile, our ears will soak up a carousel of voices and accounts from a wide range of people of all ages, each bringing its unique spark to the concepts of social justice, democracy and personal fulfilment. It’s a much-needed pluralist dialogue in which the youngest among us continue to be full of surprises.
Take a walk on your own or with family or friends through this multisensory performance and reconnect with the deeply human need for community in a politically divided world. And what if the path toward reconciliation was revealed by a kid at the wheel of a small, remote-controlled race car?
