The 5th edition of the Day of the Dead Festival in Ottawa will take place at the historic ByWard Market. The event features a special program including outdoor exhibitions, Mariachi performances, folkloric dancers, authentic Mexican cuisine, Catrina contests, workshops, artisan market, and much more. Don’t miss this unforgettable experience!

Musical presentation by the “Trío Oaxaca”, special guests from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, from Oaxaca, Mexico.

Artisan market

“Catrinas 2023” Catwalk Fashion, Culture and Tradition. “A tribute to José Guadalupe Posada”. Presented by the renowned Oaxacan fashion designer: Nicandro López

Craft workshop presented by the Mexican artist Dulce Tapp for local school students at Gallery 55

Musical presentation by the “Trío Oaxaca”, special guests from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, from Oaxaca, Mexico.

Mayan Bingo

Cooking class presented by chef Diana Lissette, graduate from the Oaxaca University Institute. Tasting of typical Oaxacan dishes.

Mariachi Musical Performance from “Los Paisanos”

Latin Jazz Concert presented by the band “Jazz Quartet de Carlos Alberto Santana.

“Rattle Your Bones” dance party with the Latin music band “Banda Sabrosa”
