Events Description
Connected by land, transformed by language, her songs are natural and genuine, a reminder to listen to the world around us.
As long as she can remember, Diyet has been drawn to music and words as the easiest way for a shy kid to express herself. This led to a degree in music performance and a short career in publishing before she realized that home was calling her back. On returning home, she began writing more seriously from a more personal place. The result of this unlikely career move has been international collaborations, extensive touring, and four albums, with her most recent, Seeds of Dreaming, released in September 2025.
Diyet’s lyrics and melodies are rooted in her lived experience, especially in the land and community where she was born and raised. Her style is both introspective and vast, juxtapositions that are reflected in immense landscapes and secluded communities, exploring modern Indigenous perspectives on ancestral philosophies, traditions, trauma, and healing.
