Events Description
Prairie Comeau is a duo of nostalgic, slightly anachronistic song lovers who remember a time when music was a verb, a tradition to be passed down, a big book carefully stored in the piano bench.
Over the years and through countless concerts, the group’s approach has become more clearly defined. The two songwriters have decided to reopen the piano bench and delve into the archives of La Bonne Chanson. Their EP L’emprunt(e), produced by Nicolas Boulerice (Le Vent du Nord) and released in March 2024, draws on the French-Canadian repertoire from the last century.
The duo’s aim was not only to revive that heritage but also to explore how these songs might be perceived today and how they have survived the passage of time. The result is a timeless folk sound, a gentle, nostalgic new perspective on traditional songs.
