Events Description
We are very excited to announce our next Art Crawl, as we head outdoors to explore the newly opened Lassonde Art Trail at Biidaasige Park.
The Lassonde Art Trail is a free, open-air destination for contemporary art from around the world, with 15 public art sites connected by more than 4 km of pathways through 60 acres of new waterfront parkland. Together, the artworks explore the site’s layered histories and changing landscape, from Indigenous histories and the city’s relationship with Lake Ontario to industrial histories, wetland restoration, local ecosystems, and environmental sustainability.
For this Art Crawl, we’ll begin with a 45-minute guided Art + Nature tour led by a member of the Lassonde Art Trail team, offering an introduction to the trail and its artworks. Then we’ll spend the rest of the afternoon walking through the park and discovering works by artists including Kent Monkman, Tracey Emin, Caroline Monnet, Kara Hamilton, Hank Willis Thomas, Nadia Belerique, Tony Romano, Oluseye, Monira Al Qadiri, Lisa Hirmer, and more. We’ll take our time with the artworks, share observations, and experience how contemporary art interacts with the landscape around it.
Come say goodbye to summer with us and spend an afternoon exploring art, nature, and the waterfront.
Rain or shine! Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. We will only cancel in the event of thunderstorms or severe weather warnings.
