The City of Oshawa is hosting the annual Peony Festival at the Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens. The popular festival celebrates horticulture, arts and heritage. Many of the more than 300 Peony plants will be in glorious bloom in the gardens, and the same number of cut blooms will be on display during the Ontario Peony Society’s judged flower show.

The Peony Festival features:

Opening ceremonies: 11:30 a.m. on the main stage on the north east side of the creek
Handcrafted item market and Artisan zone
Wide variety of food options for every foodie
Activities for children
Live music performances
Demonstrations
Experts from Durham Master Gardeners and the Canadian Peony Society
Art and photography contests

There is off-site free parking at:

• City Hall parking lot:45 Queen St.
• Parkade 2: 117 Bond St.
• On-street parking where permitted by law
• Grass lot east of Arena St. and west of Kaiser Cres. on the north side of Adelaide Ave. W.

A free shuttle runs every 20 minutes from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both days.

Shuttle Service will stop at:

• Peony Festival
• Parkwood Estate, 270 Simcoe St. N.
• The Robert McLaughlin Gallery, 72 Queen St.
• Arts Resource Centre, 45 Queen St. (parking)
• Parkade 2 (north west corner of Bond St. W. and McMillan Dr.)

The last pickup at Parkwood Estate is at 4 p.m. sharp.

Note: The shuttle bus is not accessible; accessible parking is located at 155 Arena St. and is reserved for those with an accessible parking pass from the Ministry of Transportation.

Road Closure

No Parking/Local Traffic Only
The following roads will be for local traffic only with no parking during the festival:

• Gladstone Ave. from Bond St. to Arena St.
• Elgin St. from Park Rd. to Arena St.
• Colborne St. W. from Park Rd. N. to Arena St.
• Warren Ave. from Bond St. to Elgin St. W.
• Punshon Ave. from Gladstone Ave. to Park Rd. N.
