Come out to Markham Museum’s annual Applefest! This year, we’re transforming our 25-acre facility into a vibrant hub of local businesses, skilled artisans, and engaging activities that support our community’s economic development.
AppleFest is your destination for an unforgettable experience featuring:
- Cider Making – See our fully functioning cider mill in action for one day only! Sample and take home your very own fresh pressed cider.
- Vendor Market – a wide variety of hand-crafted artisanal goods, treats, trinkets, and more from small businesses found across our site.
- Food & Drink – Enjoy a diverse array of mouth-watering food and beverages including event-special apple-flavoured goodies.
- Live Music – Experience a vibrant lineup of local entertainment, emerging artists, and talented musicians.
- Family Fun – Hop on our scenic Don Valley North Trolley trackless train presented by Don Valley North Toyota, play a round of mini golf, enjoy inflatable fun, challenge friends and family to lawn games, participate in apple-themed activities, and more coming!
- Photo Areas – Stroll through various locations across our grounds and capture Instagram-worthy moments #AppleFest2026
- Immersive Historical Experiences – Witness the blacksmith shop and print shop come to life as historical artisans demonstrate their skills and gets hands-on with apple schnitzing.
Hands-On Exhibition Spaces – Explore engaging exhibitions like our “Everyday Superheroes” exhibition, “A Picture of Markham – The Art of Pat Wheeler,” and the reimagined “Markham Community Makers”. - *NEW* Heritage Craft Workshops – discover a new skill from the past and take a customized keepsake home.
- *NEW* Dog Zone – bring your furry best friend and get ready for some tail-wagging fun in partnership with Markham Dog Alliance.
- *NEW* Ultimutts stunt dog and cat show – Step into a world of wonder with celebrity animal actors! Watch dogs dazzle with handstands, backflips, jump rope, and skateboarding, while trained cats perform astonishing tricks—all brought to life by joyful, positively trained pets bursting with energy and personality.

Parking at the Markham Museum is limited. Additional parking available within walking distance at the Mount Joy GO Station.
Is there going to be a Markham Applefest next month? The regular site keeps saying to be determined, but it’s only a month away. I hope they are going to open the museum park this year.
