Events Description
The Architecture & Design Film Festival (ADFF) returns to Toronto, with a fresh fall lineup of films, panel conversations, and social gatherings at the TIFF Lightbox from November 4-7, 2026.
Presented by Eventscape, this year’s program, curated by festival director Kyle Bergman, offers thought-provoking films that cover a wide range of topics and showcase cultural diversity.
Selected from more than 300 entries, this year’s 12 international film programs explore the untold stories behind diverse landmark buildings, examine social experiments, and show how spaces and designs actively shape our lives.
Audiences will travel with Pritzker Prize winner Smiljan Radić across Chile’s mountains and deserts or look into the process behind the work of trailblazing Swiss architect Barbara Buser, as she repurposes some of Basel’s industrial buildings. They will also rediscover some historic and sometimes peculiar architectural movements such as Googie, the long-lasting impact of bauhaus, and learn through buildings by Oscar Niemeyer and Renzo Piano how some renowned projects and urban settings are lived in and evolve. Other films tell personal stories that reveal how spaces are linked to individual growth and collective memories.
