Events Description
Welcome back to Art Hive at MOCA, a free art-making programme that invites you to create on select Thursday evenings!
Join us Thursday, May 28 in exploring textile and film works by artist Kimsooja on MOCA’s Floor 1. Her exhibition Dimensions of a Needle unfolds through the metaphor of the needle through which Kimsooja explores topics of handcraft traditions, female labour, and nomadism as well as themes of co-existence, memory, and transformation.
Each Art Hive session is unique, featuring creative invitations written by graduate students from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute. You’ll be invited to respond to a prompt that encourages you to consider MOCA’s current exhibitions while connecting with your community.
Use the provided materials to create something new, or bring in a work in progress! Textile artists are welcome to enjoy this space as a craft circle for knitting, crochet or any fibre arts. Get inspired by Kimsooja and each other!
As part of MOCA’s commitment to accessible programming, Art Hive is free to attend and all materials are provided for suggested activities. All skill levels are welcome.
