Events Description

Check out some of Toronto’s premier Asian stand-up comedians as they come together to prove engineering isn’t the only option for success. Come see what the city has to offer with comics who have graced the stages of Just for Laughs, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, CBC’s Roast Battles Canada and many more.

Hosted by: Jason Luu

Featuring:

DK Phan
Since his start in 2010, DK graces the stage with an amicable demeanor that puts you at ease as he delivers relatable down to earth writing with a subtle edge to it. His acute observations come off clean but are by no means friendly. His relatable and down to earth style of writing has earned him time on Rogers TV, Absolute Comedy and Yuk Yuks stages, as well as showcases for the Just for Laughs festival.

Jialu Wang
Jialu is a Toronto-based stand-up comic who started doing stand-up as a student at Queen’s University. Since then, she’s performed at various shows and stages across the city such as Comedy Bar, Rivoli, Yuk Yuk’s, and Absolute Comedy. Jialu’s also performed at the Chicago Women’s Funny Festival and NBC’s Stand Up for Diversity callback showcase. Honestly, she’s just trying her best.

Ryan Maglunob
Kingston’s very own Ryan Maglunob takes to the stage with jokes hit like grenades. They may take a second to go off but when they do, audiences explode with laughter. His unique nerdy perspective on life makes for some of the weirdest, yet smartest observations around. Representing his Filipino-Canadian heritage, Ryan has been seen at Toronto’s JFL42, NxNE, OMNI Television and his albuon \”Oh… and You Were Good Too” dabuted in the Top 40 of iTunes Comedy.

Leonard Chan
Leonard is a writercomedian from Toronto, Canada. As a comedian, he has been heard on Sirius/XM radio and seen on television at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, the Halifax Comedy Festival, StandUp NBC in New York, and the prestigious Just For Laughs festival in Montreal. As a writer, he’s worked on shows such as the international hit Kim’s Convenience. He also has two degrees in engineering which he uses only as punchlines as well as a totally legal number of cats.
