Jörg Widmann’s Con brio opens with a witty, high-spirited homage to Beethoven. Then, internationally acclaimed Canadian pianist and 2026/27 Spotlight Artist Angela Hewitt brings poetic grace to Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto, before the orchestra unleashes the composer’s thunderous Fifth Symphony—with the famous first four notes that changed classical music forever.
Enhance your concert experience by arriving early for exquisite performances by the TSO Chamber Soloists, thoughtfully curated by Jonathan Crow. There will be a pre-concert performance at 6:15pm included with the price of your ticket to the Friday, October 9 performance.
