Events Description
Taking place from 4 to 5 p.m., the ticketed event will celebrate Pérez’s contribution to DC’s Hawk-Girl Summer anthology. Leigh will lead a live conversation with Pérez about food, fandom and “Greetings from Shell Beach — Apokalips,” his featured story involving Big Barda, the Furies and Giganta.
The program will pair the conversation with a specialty Beef Patty Pizza created by Beast Pizza and served with Mad Harriet’s Zesty Hot Sauce. Inspired by the characters and themes of Pérez’s story, the pizza contains beef and chilies.
Following the ticketed Food & Fandom program, Beast Pizza will host a separate “secret-ish” pizza party continuing the Hawk-Girl Summer theme.
Capacity is intentionally limited to keep the program intimate. Tickets are non-refundable, and paid parking is available nearby. Guests can book tickets here.

The post-event party is distinct from the 4–5 p.m. Food & Fandom experience. The ticketed artist conversation, anthology, signing and raffle are exclusive to the main event. Additional details about the “secret-ish” gathering will be released through @leightiffany_ and @beast_pizza_to.
Leigh created Food & Fandom as a meeting point for two areas she has covered extensively throughout her career. An award-winning freelance journalist with a culinary background, she has written for publications including Eater, Toronto Life, Forbes, Vogue, Elle, Bon Appétit, Food & Wine and Travel + Leisure. She also reports on comics for AIPT Comics and Comics the Magazine.
Leigh holds degrees in business and communications and is a recipient of the Clay Triplette James Beard Foundation scholarship. Her experience across food, travel, entertainment and comics informs Food & Fandom’s approach: pairing creator-led conversations with dishes shaped by the stories being discussed.
