Gather for a family-friendly March Break extravaganza at Colborne Lodge. Enjoy a drop-in craft, join a daily Indigenous-led tour of High Park at 1 pm, or take part in a guided tour of the historic home of Jemima and John Howard. All week long during regular open hours, on a drop-in basis.

Enjoy a Metis beading workshop led by a Cree-Metis artist & educator Marissa Magneson. Learn about the history of beading and take home what you have created. Merissa has a Master’s degree in Canadian and Indigenous Studies from Trent University, and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at York University in the Faculty of Education where she is researching “Beadwork as Pedagogy: A Bridge Towards Cultural Reclamation and (re)Conciliation.” (Please note: participants will be taught traditional beading techiques to create a strawberry bead patch but will not leave with a completed project. They will gain the skills and knowledge to continue on their own.)For ages 10 and up. Younger participants should be accompanied by a caregiver.

Vehicle parking is available at the Spring Rd parking lot – a 10-15 minute walk from Colborne Lodge Museum. Limited parking (5 spots) is available at Colborne Lodge Museum. Weekday parking is available at the Grenadier Restaurant. – a 10 minute walk south to Colborne Lodge.
