Maud of Leaskdale Returning to the Stage at the Historic Leaskdale Church!

The Lucy Maud Montgomery Society of Ontario’s signature production Maud of Leaskdale is back for another season. This August, experience the life of Canadian literary icon and author of Anne of Green Gables, L.M. Montgomery, on stage at the Historic Leaskdale Church. This critically-acclaimed, one-woman play is the pride and joy of both the Leaskdale Manse National Historic Site and the LMMSO. Actress Jennifer Carroll brings L.M. Montgomery’s life in Leaskdale back to her original stage in the Historic Leaskdale Church where Maud’s husband Ewan Macdonald was the minister. Maud of Leaskdale will be showing on August 20th at 7:30 PM, August 22nd at 3:00 PM, and August 23rd at 3:00 PM. To book your tickets – only $25 per person – please call 905-862-0808.

Maud of Leaskdale was created and directed by Conrad Boyce using the authentic voice of L.M. Montgomery: the entire script is composed entirely of direct quotes from her personal journals, penned in Leaskdale. Her fifteen years in Ontario, from 1911-1926, were a time of simple joys and heart-wrenching tragedy. She became a devoted mother, wife, and world famous author. The Heirs of L.M. Montgomery commented that “We promise… you will laugh, you will cry, and you will leave in awe of Jennifer Carroll as Maud!” Further, they commented “You absolutely need to see this one woman show if you can.” In their words, “We know, we know… we keep saying ‘must see’ and ‘save the date’… but we really do mean it! Maud of Leaskdale is A M A Z I N G!”
