Events Description
Downsview Park is filled with so many exciting spaces to explore. Join us for a guided late winter walk through the Urban Forest from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM, as we learn about all about the plants and animals that call Downsview Park home. This activity will include a nature walk, exploration and some games along the way. All ages are welcome.
Access to Indoor Lunch/Snack Area Description:
The indoor Discovery Centre will be made available for registered participants to sit and eat a packed lunch or snack brought from home from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM. Please note that we are not providing a lunch or snack; these must be brought from home. Due to limited space inside the Discovery Centre, spots are limited and registration is required; registration to other activities does not guarantee access to the Indoor Lunch/Snack Area.
Nature Storytime:
Join us in the Teaching Greenhouse from 12:30 PM until 12:50 PM for a book read by our expert educator! Get ready for an exciting story time that will bring a beloved book to life.
Song Circle with Pete Moss:
Join us in the Teaching Greenhouse from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM for a Song Circle with Pete Moss! Pete Moss is a Toronto musician and outdoor educator who has been connecting children with nature for a decade. With a playful folk-pop style and creative storytelling, his songs inspire care and curiosity towards the natural world.
Nature Play and Bonfire (Drop-In Activity):
Join us in the forest from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM for Nature Play and Bonfire! Imagination, exploration, and fun are at the heart of this free play program through the combination of natural, and human made loose parts in a forest setting. Nearby we will have a bonfire to gather around, meet new friends and roast tasty treats! (Please note that a vegetarian/vegan/kosher/halal option will be available for roasting)
Downsview Park Volunteer Greenhouse Activities (Drop-In Activity):
Join us in the Downsview Park Volunteer Greenhouse from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM for engaging, hands-on activities. Learn about native plants and pollinators while enjoying interactive activities including seed ball making, seed-sowing, artmaking, and more!
