Founded in 2001 by Tonya Williams, Reelworld Film Festival is dedicated to empowering emerging Indigenous and racialized storytellers to showcase films which inspire social change. As a platform for underrepresented voices, Reelworld showcases Canadian and International films that explore some of the most current and pressing issues facing our world today.

Reelworld Film Festival showcases Canadian films by Black, Indigenous, Asian, South Asian, Middle Eastern, North African, and Latin American Canadian artists.

Join Reelworld for its 23rd anniversary as Canada’s longest-running Film Festival and Institute devoted to promoting diversity within the Canadian screen industries. This year, the Reelworld Film Festival+Summit is taking place from November 1 to 7, with the summit happening on November 1 and 2. Attendees can immerse themselves in over 30 diverse Canadian films created by Black, Indigenous, Asian, South Asian, and People of Colour. The two-day summit will host more than 40 industry experts, offering keynotes, industry discussions, fireside chats, research presentations, pitch opportunities, and networking events.
