Events Description
Toronto’s most highly-anticipated community-focused event. RPFF brings together a wide array of audiences to experience a thoughtfully curated selection of independent, local, and international films from and about Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) communities.
2025 Festival
This year’s festival highlights the theme of art as a conduit into the many better futures that are possible for our communities. In an effort to center the spaces our community members occupy, this year’s programming has added new venues, including Central YMCA, bevy and Regent Park
Community Centre, in addition to Daniels Spectrum. Opening this year’s festival on November 27 at the Central YMCA is the award-winning,
collaboratively-made documentary Khartoum, followed by an in-depth discussion on Sudanese filmmaking and its relationship to the country’s historical and present-day political realities.
Sudanese Cinema: Past, Present, and Future panelists will include Khartoum Director Timeea Mohamed Ahmed and Toronto Arab Film Festival Artistic Director & Co-Founder Rolla Tahir.
