The Richmond Hill Winter Carnival is a weekend of affordable fun and entertainment organized by volunteers to celebrate the community of Richmond Hill in a welcoming atmosphere.

Saturday’s schedule is packed with diverse activities. Starting at 10:00 am until 5:00 pm, there are three simultaneous events: Barefoot Bushcraft, offering hands-on outdoor learning experiences; Black Creek Pioneer Village, providing insights into 19th-century life through artifacts; and Homesteading, featuring various farm stations including lambing and beekeeping. The afternoon includes unique events like the Big Foot Race at 12:00 pm, a Carnival Welcome Ceremony with local dignitaries at 12:30 pm, and wildlife presentations at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. A wing eating contest is set for 1:30 pm. The evening rounds off with a spaghetti dinner from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm, accompanied by music from LuminEssence Music.
Sunday’s schedule offers a mix of educational and entertaining events. From midnight to 4:00 pm, Origami Canada hosts a session on the art of paper folding. The day begins with a Pancake Breakfast Feast from 9:00 am to 11:30 am, offering a hearty meal. Concurrently, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Barefoot Bushcraft, Black Creek Pioneer Village, and Homesteading activities continue, providing learning experiences in outdoor skills, 19th-century life, and farming practices. Circus Jonathan showcases his juggling and unicycling skills at 10:00 am and again at 12:00 pm. Wildlife presentations are scheduled for 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. The Big Foot Race and a paracord bracelet making session both occur at 1:30 pm. The day concludes with a Carnival Button Draw at 4:30 pm to support the Winter Carnival.
