Events Description
Building on the success of 2025, the celebration returns as SankofaFest, an expanded three-day festival from August 21–23. As the summer season’s anchor, the festival culminates on August 23rd with Sankofa Day, a day centered on remembrance, healing, and the future, marking UNESCO’s International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition, bringing a global moment of reflection into one of Canada’s most prominent public spaces.
Curated and programmed for its second year by D.PE Agency, the weekend will feature performances, ceremonies, art installations, film, and community-led activations, bringing together a wide range of voices and experiences across the Square.
