Festival concerts will span an array of musical styles, including pop, rock, jazz, classical, barbershop, world, gospel, folk, live looping and beat boxing, all performed a cappella (voices without instrumental accompaniment). The festival includes nine ticketed concerts, seven free events, and two days of workshops on the art of a cappella singing.
Featured groups this year include international super-stars The Swingles (UK), some of Canada’s leading a Cappella groups including Countermeasure, FreePlay, Retrocity, Hampton Avenue, The Watch, a SING! Mass Choir conducted by Kurt Sampson (of Toronto’s Juno Award winning Cadence), celebrated Canadian singers Heather Bambrick, David Sereda, Patricia O’Callahan, up and coming groups The Ault Sisters, Wibi, The Yonge Guns, Onoscatopoeia; and many more.
Want to sing? Choirs, ensembles and individual singers are welcome to register and participate in SING! Public Workshops on a cappella singing and in the MASS CHOIR performance.
