Events Description

Spotlight at The Second City is proud to announce the lineup for their monthly sketch comedy showcase on November 13 and 14 at The Second City’s Theatre ‘73 in Toronto. Wrapping up the 2026 season, the November edition of Spotlight at The Second City will feature solo sketch artist Sarah Conway, and Toronto’s masters of the short scene TIK TOK BOOM.

Hosted and produced by Taylor Hreljac and Gabe Meacher, Spotlight at The Second City presents monthly showcases featuring two buzzing sketch comedy acts performing 30 minute sets for a two night run.

2026 Sketch To The Death champion Sarah Conway brings mischief and delight to the stage with a sort of Montana’s Ultimate Appetizer Combo of sketch comedy that includes characters, music, burlesque, and, of course, several wonderful dips. Her new half-hour balances real vulnerability with fast-paced absurdity. True to her alternative comedy roots, Sarah’s work is earnest, inventive, and deeply silly. Sarah has performed in classical comedies like The Flying Doctor (Perchance Theatre) and one-woman dramas like The Shape of a Girl (Green Thumb Theatre). Sarah plays Officer Taylor O’Neill on CityTV’s Hudson & Rex, and has appeared on CBC’s Son of a Critch as both Reporter and Local Reporter

Each TIK TOK BOOM show is made up entirely of “blackouts.” That means every sketch is two minutes or less. Perfect for shortening attention spans. The TIK TOK BOOM cast features comedians Madeleine Brown, Kent Penaranda, Aaron Rubinoff, Miho Suzuki and Kitty Zhang. In the past year the troupe has had recent noteworthy appearances at Toronto Sketchfest, Sketch to the Death, Sketch @ Rivoli, and Montreal Sketchfest.
