The Markham Jazz Festival is an exciting and vibrant five-day event featuring well known professional jazz musicians performing on three stages on beautiful Main Street Unionville, in Markham.

Join us in historic Unionville for the 29th annual Markham Jazz Festival on Saturday and Sunday, August 22nd and 23rd for a spectacular two-day festival featuring top Canadian musicians! With over 30 performances across a mix of three up-close-and-personal stages, you’ll experience award-winning jazz, blues, soul, and more—all FREE. Plus, indulge in delicious food, explore unique craft vendors, and take advantage of free parking and shuttle service.

JUNO-winning Artistic Director Ernesto Cervini has programmed a 2026 lineup that is sure to put a smile on your face. Whether it be traditional jazz, vocal jazz, world jazz, modern jazz, blues, salsa, Afro-Cuban, soul, R&B, reggae…we’ve got it and more.

There are more than 30 different shows on tap, beginning Saturday at noon and running until 10:15 pm – then starting up again Sunday and closing the show around 7:30 pm. Three stages of music and some surprise street performances too!
Over the full weekend, beginning at noon Saturday and Sunday, you can catch so many incredible musical groups such as the ever delightful Eighth Street Orchestra, Ori Dagan, Jean- Michel Pilc Trio, the Kaiso Street Collective.

And then there are the headliners: Juno-winner Vocalist Ranee Lee, Funk/R&B/Soul master U.N. Jefferson, piano virtuoso Gabriel Palatchi, and closing the show on Sunday evening, World and Latin sensation Amanda Martinez.

So many surprises, so many established artists and so many “you saw them here first!” artists that you will love. And of course “Hot Spots” (bars and restaurants featuring their own jazz-genre performances).

Venue: Along Main Street, Unionville (Markham). Main stages at the Millennium Band Stand, Varley Art Gallery and McKay Art Centre

Shuttle buses run continuously from Unionville High School into the village and back starting at 11:00 am each day (no fixed schedule). School address is: 201 Town Centre Blvd. (beside the Flato Markham Theatre).
