Events Description
The Koffler Gallery’s latest exhibition, “The Synagogue at Babyn Yar: Turning the Nightmare of Evil into a Shared Dream,” launches on April 17th, Yom HaShoah Eve.
This immersive and ambitious project offers a unique opportunity to absorb the story of the historic location Babyn Yar. While exploring the Holocaust as a phenomenon and history, this exhibit also celebrates the Synagogue’s religious, architectural, social, historical, and geopolitical significance.
Until November 12th, 2023, we invite you to explore this compelling showcase of Ukrainian Jewish history created with our partners: architects Manuel Herz and Douglas Birkenshaw, photographers Edward Burtynsky and Maxim Dondyuk, and historian Robert Jan van Pelt.
Opening in a time of peril and unrest for Ukrainians, this exhibition also strives to spotlight the fight for creating a bold new beginning in a land fraught with conflict and challenge.
