Events Description
The Distress Centres of Greater Toronto (DCGT) returns for its annual Walk for Suicide Awareness on Sunday, September 13. Hosted during Suicide Awareness Month, the Walk brings the community together to honour those lost, challenge the stigma around suicide and fund life-saving support services.
The Walk will follow a scenic path of just under 4.5 km along the shores of Lake Ontario. Participants are encouraged to donate or lead fundraising efforts, with all proceeds supporting DCGT’s free, confidential, 24/7 emotional support, crisis intervention, suicide prevention and survivor support services.
Participants will receive a t-shirt and an Honour Bead necklace as a meaningful way to recognize personal connections to the cause and remember loved ones lost to suicide.
Snacks and refreshments will be served following the Walk.
Register for the Walk for Suicide Awareness today and join us as we walk toward hope, healing, and a stronger, more connected community.
