Events Description
BC Achievement Foundation invites you to celebrate the recipients of the Polygon Award in First Nations Art on November 24, 2026 at The Roundhouse Exhibition Hall. Since 2007, the award has recognized artistic excellence among First Nations artists in BC, honouring their role in preserving traditional practices while embracing contemporary art. This year’s recipients are Gigaemi Kukwits (Capilano, Kwakwaka’wakw, and Tlingit), Marika Swan (Tla-o-qui-aht), Crabtree McLennan Emerging Artist Sheldon Pierre Louis (Sylix), and Award of Distinction recipient Lyle Wilson (Haisla). In celebration of artists working in carving, photography, beading, weaving, jewellery, painting, masks, sculpture, stonework, printmaking, basketry, textiles, and media art, the evening will feature the official award presentations, the premiere screening of recipient films that share their stories and artistic journeys, and a seated dinner with guests from across British Columbia’s arts and cultural communities.
