good loser by Alexa Solveig Mardon

Join New Works for the full-length world premiere of good loser, in partnership with Mardon + Mitsuhashi and the Roundhouse Community Centre. Choreographed and performed by Alexa Solveig Mardon, good loser features an exhilarating, highly-physical duet between a dancer and live drummer, where the performers work to stay present to the continuous unfolding moment. The performance serves as an open invitation to embrace life’s inevitable shifts, sharing an honest, movement-driven reflection on vulnerability and presence.
“This piece, at its heart, is an attempt to stay afloat amidst compound global and personal losses: to apprentice myself to the lifelong work of becoming a good loser.” -Alexa Solveig Mardon.
