Dairy Queen’s Free Cone Day is returning, offering a free small vanilla cone to customers across Canada.

The offer is available to DQ Rewards members on Thursday, March 19, and the cone must be claimed through the DQ mobile app. Once redeemed, customers can pick up their free treat at participating locations, while supplies last.
Some stores will also run a small fundraising option called “Dip it for Kids.” For $1, customers can add a dipped coating to their cone. That dollar goes to local children’s hospitals through the Children’s Miracle Network.
Per the news release, donations collected at a Dairy Queen location stay within that community, directed to the area’s children’s hospital foundation. The funds are used to support priority needs at those hospitals.
Those choosing the $1 dip can pick between Dairy Queen’s classic Chocolate Dip or try the Mint Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone, a mint-flavoured coating mixed with chocolate cookie pieces.
Free Cone Day itself is fairly straightforward, with one free small vanilla cone per DQ Rewards member, available through the app. Deals may take up to 24 hours to appear after joining the rewards program.
The offer applies at participating locations across Canada. In Quebec, the promotion runs March 19, 2026, all day, with a limit of one cone per person and no purchase required.
