Strathearn Art Walk and Music Festival
The Strathearn Art Walk celebrates local artists and the community as a whole. The free, family-friendly festival takes over parkland along Strathearn Drive between 89 and 91 Street, pairing art with music, food trucks and valley views.
What to Expect at Strathearn Art Walk
You can browse hundreds of artists, catch performances across the weekend, bring the kids and even your pets, then settle in and make a day of it.
The festival will shift in size as the weekend unfolds. Friday runs from 6 to 10 p.m. with a beer garden, 50 art vendors and mainstage performances. Saturday expands to more than 350 art vendors, two performance stages and evening programming until 10 p.m. Sunday brings back 350-plus artists, two stages and a beer garden through early evening.
It is a free, family-friendly event, with accessible washrooms, snacks and plenty of open park space.
Hundreds of artists to browse
Art is the main attraction here. On Saturday and Sunday, more than 350 vendors are expected, while Friday features 50. You can wander from tent to tent, meet emerging and professional artists and, if something catches your eye, buy a piece directly from the creator. Some artists also offer pickup or delivery if your new find is too awkward to carry home.

Three days of live music
The mainstage lineup starts Friday with Sam Steffen, Jessie Bird and Western Thistles. Saturday brings nine acts, including Curt Young and The Healers, Laura Ulmer, Jessica Heine, Passburg, Jillian Treidler and Love Empire. Sunday features Susan Isaac, Bobbi-Jo Starr, Leanne Lightfoot, Jay Gilday, Kaeley Jade and Road to Django. With two performance stages operating Saturday and Sunday, you can easily build your visit around the music.
Food, drinks and room to relax
Food trucks and snack options will be available throughout the festival, along with a beer garden each day. The park setting gives you space to walk, sit, rest or let younger visitors burn off some energy. Pets are welcome too, and accessible washrooms are available on site.
Getting there without the parking headache
There is no on-site parking. Free parking is available at École Michaëlle-Jean, 10005 84 Street NW, and McNally High School, 8440 105 Avenue NW. If you bike or scooter, racks are available, but bring a lock. The Strathearn LRT Station is about a 10-minute walk away.
Road closures and drop-off details
Strathearn Drive will be fully closed to vehicle traffic from 87 Street to 91 Street. If you are using a taxi, Uber, Lyft or getting dropped off, use 9150 Strathearn Drive as the drop-off address.
