The Kids Write 4 Kids (KW4K) writing contest is the only competition of its kind that gives youth in grades 4-8 the opportunity to have their work published in paperback and ebook editions on Amazon, Google Play, iBookstore and Overdrive, before they reach high-school.

Each year, a panel of judges selects a story (or stories) submitted to the competition to be published both in print and digital format, available for the world to read.

To date, 19 titles by youth authors have been published. You can the list of all the previous winning published stories on the website.

All book sale proceeds benefit winners’ charity of choice.

“As we celebrate a full decade of our Kids Write 4 Kids creative writing competition, this milestone reminds us of how far the contest has come and the collection of awe-inspiring literary pieces that have come out of it,” said Ivy Wong, Founder of Ripple Foundation. “We have published 19 books from children across the county since our inception — with record-breaking entries in 2020 – 2021 — and we cannot wait to read this year’s contest entries to find Canada’s next great young writer.”

Ripple Foundation is a charitable organization based in Toronto that aims to empower the next generation of leaders by fostering creativity and cultivating a passion for reading and writing in youth across Canada.

The KW4K program has been running since 2012 and is Ripple Foundation’s signature program.

The contest runs until March 31, 2022.
