Toronto’s House on the Hill will be transforming into a spooky castle once again this year.

If you like your Halloween plans with a little theatre, a little history and a few well-timed scares, Casa Loma is bringing back Legends of Horror for its 10th anniversary.
In October, you can follow a two-kilometre route through the castle’s lower gardens, underground tunnels and Stables. The self-guided experience takes about an hour and mixes classic horror characters with projections, animatronics, dramatic lighting and live entertainment as Casa Loma shifts into Halloween mode after dark.
What to See & Do During Legends of Horror:
You can expect a mix of promenade theatre, jump scares, interactive sets and themed environments spread across the property.
The route moves from the gardens into Sir Henry Pellatt’s underground tunnels and then into the Stables, where Dr. Frankenstein and other horror characters appear. DJs, food and Halloween-themed drinks are also part of the evening.
From Haunted Tunnels to Dr. Frankenstein’s Lair:
You move through the experience at your own pace, rather than following a guide.
The trail stretches for about two kilometres, with staff positioned along the way to help direct guests. The event uses 3D imagery projections, theatrical lighting, animatronics and live performers to build different scenes.
At the Stables, the theme shifts into what organizers describe as a chamber of horrors featuring Dr. Frankenstein and a cast of monsters.
Nick Di Donato, president and CEO of Liberty Entertainment Group, said the event transforms the castle into a theatrical space “where every corner becomes a scene.”
Food & Drinks:
Around the midway point, you can stop at the Captain Morgan Bar and Lounge for food and Halloween-inspired cocktails.
The themed drink menu includes the Franken Colada, Mai Die, Necromancer Negroni and Ogre Old Fashioned. Restrooms are also available at the midway point.
Outside food and beverages are not permitted.
A Less Frightening Option for Younger Visitors:
The event is open to all ages, but anyone 16 or younger must be accompanied by an adult.
For younger children, organizers recommend Family Hours on select dates. These begin earlier, when it is less dark, and there are no live actors. Standard evening admission begins at 7 p.m.
Parental discretion is advised because the experience includes scares and horror themes.
Casa Loma is also home to some of the best holiday events in the GTA. Keep an eye out for Casa Loma’s Christmas events for kids and adults, which usually include magical lighting and daytime holiday performances.

What:
Visit Casa Loma for Legends of Horror, an immersive theatrical Halloween walking tour through the 5-acre grounds and the depths of the castle’s 90,000 square foot structure.
During October, you can marvel at the beautifully created sets and vignettes from horror movies and stories from all times while experiencing the castle’s tunnels and darkest spaces brought alive by over 70 actors as you walk the shadowy 2-kilometre trail that winds through the historic site.
How much:
Family Hour tickets start at $35 with rate climbing to $45 during general hours.
VIP packages range from $150 to $200 and include admission for two, priority entry, two drinks and two food items, with one of each per guest.
When:
Legends of Horror runs nightly from October 2 through October 31, 2026. On Halloween weekend, hours extend to midnight.

What should you know before going?
The entrance is at Davenport and Walmer Road, leading directly into the lower gardens. Guests are encouraged to use the George Brown pay-and-display lots, although limited paid parking is also available at Casa Loma.
The event runs rain or shine unless severe weather makes conditions unsafe. Because the route includes stairs, outdoor sections and underground tunnels, it is not wheelchair or walker accessible.
