Canadian Heritage has announced the first-ever Canada Day Contest as part of the official Canada Day Celebrations.
Canada Day celebrations usually held with much pomp and splendour in Ottawa will be a virtual one for the second year.
Starting today, until 11:59 p.m. on July 1, Canadians can enter to win the “Canada Day Contest: discover, celebrate and win” contest.
As part of the contest, you can take a mini-quiz that will suggest activities from the Canada Day celebration kit so that you can have a great time at home on Canada Day. As per the news release, “From fitness and cooking to crafts, dancing, drumming and even stargazing, there is something for everyone.”

What: Canadians can enter the first-ever Canada Day Contest: discover, celebrate and win, and take the mini-quiz that will suggest activities from the Canada Day celebration kit.
Who: The Contest is open to all Canadian residents who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence.
The following people are not eligible to enter the Contest and cannot win a prize: the employees, officers, directors and representatives of the Contest Organizer who helped, either directly or indirectly, to organize the Contest; the employees, officers, directors and representatives of RICARDO Media Inc., RICARDO and Giant Tiger; the parents, siblings, children of and persons domiciled with any of the above people; people under the age of majority in their province or territory of residence; and all agents, parent companies, affiliated or related companies, subsidiaries, divisions, promotional or advertising agencies, and directors of the Contest Organizer, RICARDO Media Inc., RICARDO and Giant Tiger.
The prizes to be won are as follows:
Grand prize ($11,500 value):
- A one-hour virtual culinary workshop with Chef Ricardo, for yourself and eight friends
- A gift set of RICARDO products worth $500
- A $1,000 gift card to spend at Giant Tiger
