Environment Canada Issues Wind Warning for Calgary Region and Southwestern Foothills

Environment Canada has issued wind warning for Calgary Region.

Dangerous wind gusts between 120 and 150 km/h are expected from now to Friday in the regions of Crowsnest Pass – Pincher Creek – Waterton Lakes Nat. Park, while Kananaskis Country might see wind with speeds upto 100 km/h.

 

Calgary area can expect winds that might likely reach 90 km/h, from late morning to early afternoon.

Environment Canada expects that the winds will diminish by late afternoon of Friday in Calgary and Airdrie. Through the day on Thursday and Friday, the southwestern Foothills will see the strongest winds, with gusts 120 to 150 km/h expected at times.

Snowfall warnings remains in effect for Banff and Jasper National Park.
