1. Puppet Pop-Up Studio

Celebrate the upcoming Chinese Year of the Rooster by making your own rooster puppet with shaped newspaper, yarn and of course, lots of feathers! The workshop will be based on Click Clack Moo: Cows that Type by Doreen Cronin, a hilarious book about farmyard animals. Create a postscript for the book with what happens when the Roosters got a hold of the typewriter! Details

2. Mendelssohn, Haydn & Shostakovich

Mendelssohn’s immensely popular Violin Concerto is beautifully interpreted by rising Canadian talent, Timothy Chooi. A prolific composer, Haydn’s No. 99 one of the famed “London Symphonies” provides a harmonious interlude, before Shostakovich’s upbeat, almost breezy Ninth Symphony, a work he personally considered “a joyful little piece” brings the evening to a glorious crescendo. Details

Calgary-born Jan Lisiecki’s insightful interpretations, refined technique, and natural affinity for art give him a musical voice that belies his age. In 2013 he received the Leonard Bernstein Award at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and was also named as Gramophone magazine’s Young Artist of the Year. Details

Written and performed by Chase Padgett, 6 Guitars is a pitch perfect blend of music, comedy, and characters. A hilarious evening with comedian, Canadian icon, and one of the funniest women in television, Cathy Jones (This Hour Has 22 Minutes, CODCO). This award-winning performer returns to the stage with a hugely entertaining new solo show that is part stand-up, part confessional, and completely hilarious. 5. Don Burnstick

Don Burnstick is a Cree from the Alexander First Nation located outside of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The youngest of 15 children, coupled with the fact of growing up on the reserve, taught Don a variety of means of defending himself, not the least of which became his use of humor.  Details

6.  Ali Hassan: Mulsim, Interrupted

In his new show, Muslim, Interrupted, Ali delivers a bitingly funny, personal perspective on Islam by putting a human face on the religion and countering negative stigmas with humour. They sell some very unique pet items, which are difficult to find in stores. It is an inexpensive thing to do with a family in the middle of the winter, especially for a family who loves dogs, or wants to learn more about dogs sports or responsible dog ownership. Details
