1. Kids Fringe

KidsFringe is a FREE, fun and a family-friendly mini-Fringe site organized by Fringe Theatre Adventures (FTA), providing ten days of arts-based opportunities and entertainment for children and youth, their families and caregivers.

4. Perseids Pyjama Party

A pyjama party under the stars! Wear your cozy pyjamas, bring your pillows, blankets, flashlights and lawnchairs, and sit back to enjoy one of the busiest times in the sky during the annual Perseids Meteor Shower. Spread out your blanket or your lawn chair and watch the sky without interruption from city lights. While we wait for dark to fall, there will be family fun activities.

5. Farm & Heritage Carnival

This family oriented farm-themed event is fun for children of all ages. Held at the historic Grain Elevator Museum site, you can have a tour of the Elevator, and see how it functioned. Relax and enjoy entertainment from local musicians. On the must-do list for summer fun: pony rides for the kids, see adorable mini farm animals, bounce in a giant inflated obstacle course, take aim at the western shoot-out game, get your face painted, twist with a balloon artist, win prizes by competing cow milking contest, games of skill… fresh cotton candy, and so much more!

6. The Bison Festival

Bison were nearly lost from North America! But by the early 20th century, bison purchased from Montana and brought to Elk Island National Park began to slowly re-build their numbers. Today nearly every plains bison you see in southern Canada, whether in conservation or domestic herds, had an ancestor in Elk Island National Park. We think that’s something to celebrate! Join us for our annual Bison Festival celebrating all things bison!

A narration of the life and works of Aref Qazvini, Iran’s National Poet. Aref’s works, both in music and literature, are great reflections of the sociopolitical scene of Iran in the late 19th and early 20th century. We will tell Aref’s story from the beginning to the end, as narrated by Farid Kheradmand.
