1. Kids Fringe

KidsFringe is a FREE, fun and a family-friendly mini-Fringe site organized by Fringe Theatre Adventures (FTA), providing ten days of arts-based opportunities and entertainment for children and youth, their families and caregivers.

2. Edmonton Latin Festival

Come down to this free event and fill your senses with the sights, sounds, and tastes of these amazing cultures. There is something for everyone at this all ages event with a Kids Area, performance stage, beer garden, and friendly atmosphere. Details

4. Perseids Pyjama Party

A pyjama party under the stars! Wear your cozy pyjamas, bring your pillows, blankets, flashlights and lawnchairs, and sit back to enjoy one of the busiest times in the sky during the annual Perseids Meteor Shower. Spread out your blanket or your lawn chair and watch the sky without interruption from city lights. While we wait for dark to fall, there will be family fun activities.

5. Farm & Heritage Carnival

This family oriented farm-themed event is fun for children of all ages. Held at the historic Grain Elevator Museum site, you can have a tour of the Elevator, and see how it functioned. Relax and enjoy entertainment from local musicians. On the must-do list for summer fun: pony rides for the kids, see adorable mini farm animals, bounce in a giant inflated obstacle course, take aim at the western shoot-out game, get your face painted, twist with a balloon artist, win prizes by competing cow milking contest, games of skill… fresh cotton candy, and so much more!

6. The Bison Festival

Bison were nearly lost from North America! But by the early 20th century, bison purchased from Montana and brought to Elk Island National Park began to slowly re-build their numbers. Today nearly every plains bison you see in southern Canada, whether in conservation or domestic herds, had an ancestor in Elk Island National Park. We think that’s something to celebrate! Join us for our annual Bison Festival celebrating all things bison!

Join Nature Kids along with Wildlife Rehab who will teach you all about helping keep Edmonton’s backyard animals healthy! There will be activities, crafts and nature walks.

Family Nature Nights (FNN) is a project designed by Nature Alberta’s Nature Kids, The Alberta Science Network and The City of Edmonton, Community Recreation Services (CRS). Details

1. Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival

This year’s Festival will feature enchanting performers, buskers, artisans and vendors that will mesmerize the outdoor crowd while over 1,600 live indoor theatre performances will be hosted by 50 venues or more! The Edmonton Fringe Festival is North America’s largest and longest-running Fringe Festival attended by 665,750 festivalgoers in 2014 with a record-breaking 118,280 tickets sold to indoor and BYOV performances. 2. Spencer Murray & Pipeslinger

Mixing century old tunes with new music that pushes boundaries, Spencer Murray & Pipeslinger features some of Edmonton’s great, young musicians. Lead by Spencer Murray, who performs on flute, tin whistle and bagpipes, it’s fast, it’s loud and it’s a wild ride from start to finish! Details

The Festival, a competition for the top amateur musicians (57 youth ranging in age from 12 to 28 years), in the country.

5.  Brit Floyd – Space & Time World Tour

6.We Have Your King: The Elvis Abduction Story

On the eve of the anniversary of Elvis’ death, Edmonton’s favourite teasing troupe of glittery, shimmying, tongue-in-cheek dancers are paying high-kicking homage to The King and revealing the celestial truth of the icon’s end… At their biggest show yet, the Space Ladies of Capital City Burlesque will resurrect their famous Elvis tribute show (which was named Top Ten at last year’s Fringe Festival) with special guests, Les Trois Femmes. Details
