The Royal Canadian College of Organists is presenting a Great Music Marathon in honour of Johann Sebastian Bach. 6. Tea With George Frideric Handel
German composer George Frideric Handel is still considered one of history’s greatest, hundreds of years after his death. Handel created much of his work in London, England for Kings George I and II. A collection of Handel’s earlier orchestral movements named “Water Music” premiered in July 1717 for King George I, and the “Music for the Royal Fireworks” was commissioned by his son from the throne in 1749.
