1. Winterlude

A wide range of activities—reflecting both the Capital Region and Canada as a whole—will be presented at three official sites. Snowflake Kingdom in Gatineau’s Jacques-Cartier Park will let visitors experience Canadian landscapes through fun winter activities, such as zooming across the Park on a mega-zip line, sliding down super slides—including a new fifth slide named “Blizzard”—and finding their way out of a giant Canada 150 maze. 2. Mary Poppins

A magical musical for the whole family! One of the most popular Disney movies of all time is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a practically perfect musical! Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins delighted Broadway audiences for over 2,500 performances and received nominations for nine Olivier and seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. 4. Parkwood Hills Winter Fun Day

Enjoy Canadian winter activities. Horse drawn sleigh rides, snowshoeing, maple taffy, live music performances, snow decorating station, snowman building competition, sled races and obstacle courses, three legged races and winter craft station will engage them in a meaningful way to promote a sense of belonging. 2. Rachmaninoff’s Third

Nielsen An Imaginary Trip to the Faroe Islands Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 3 Sibelius Symphony No. 6 Dramatic, expressive music from Denmark, Russia and Finland, featuring the debut of a fiery, young pianist performing Rachmaninoff. Details

3. Preconcert Recital with Stellae Boreales

Stellae Boreales is the premiere violin ensemble from Ottawa Suzuki Strings music school, a non-profit organization based in Ottawa, ON. This year’s ensemble is comprised of 21 very talented and dedicated young violinists between the ages of 12 and 17. Stellae Boreales has many performances in Ottawa with an emphasis on community outreach along with yearly national and international touring. Details

4. Bobby Bazini

Bobby Bazini with guest Gabrielle Shonk Bobby Bazini returns to the NAC Presents series with his new album, Summer Is Gone. Details

5. JUNO Concert Series

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) along with MEGAPHONO are setting the stage for JUNO Week 2017, with the latest edition of the JUNO Concert Series in Ottawa, ON. Artists from the local Ottawa area will come together and celebrate Canadian music. Proceeds from the event will go to MusiCounts, Canada’s music education charity associated with CARAS.. Details

6. Delhi 2 Dublin

Founded by Tarun Nayar (of Beats Without Borders cred), Sanjay Seran (at the time hailing from live bhangra act Signia), and Ravi Binning (a professionally trained bhangra dancer and dhol player), it was obvious D2D had something people wanted. Word spread about their ridiculously energetic live show, and these road-warriors have been touring constantly since: mesmerizing crowds at many of the top festivals across Canada and the US, blowing people away in the UK, Australia, Germany and Malaysia as well as performing to awe-filled audiences in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Dubai. 7. Dueling Pianos

Eddie Bullen and his son Quincy are both exceptional jazz musicians who live and perform in Canada.
A Juno award winning artist, Eddie Bullen created Dueling Pianos to musically celebrate the relationship between an immigrant father and his young son and to share with audiences the process and effects of their pursuit of excellence. Details

8. Huis en spectacle à Ottawa

Huis is made up of William Régnier (drums), Sylvain Descôteaux (vocals and keyboards), Michel St-Père, well-known leader of the group Mystery (guitar), Michel Joncas (bass and Moog Taurus) and Johnny Maz (keyboards). Details

9. Ottawa Symphony Orchestra

Alain Trudel will lead the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra through a public rehearsal of Marquez’ rousing Danzon No. 2 and musical-theatre-fan favourite, West Side Story by Bernstein. Watch Trudel’s artistic vision come to life as he discusses the historical context and musical style of this repertoire all whilst balancing the sounds of one hundred passionate musicians. Details
