The Observatory at University of Saskatchewan is open year-round, free of charge, on Saturday nights so that visitors may view celestial objects through the telescope.

5.Bret Higgins’ Atlas Revolt
The brainchild of the Toronto bassist Bret Higgins (Great Lakes Swimmers), Atlas Revolt was created as a vehicle for his original instrumental compositions. Though most familiar as the star, creator, and one of the principle writers for CBC’s hit sitcom Mr. D, it is in stand-up comedy where Gerry Dee first hit his mark. Dee, who was a private school teacher for nine years before giving it up for comedy, became the first Canadian in 27 years to win the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition, and was a finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, the highest finish by a Canadian in the history of the show.

2. PFE Dance Showcase
PFE Dance Showcase is an annual Ukrainian dance competition organized and hosted by Pavlychenko Folklorique Ensemble. The competition hosts dance groups from across the nation and is open to competitors from every province. Spanning over a four-day period, the competition portion is unique in having both a male and female adjudicator evaluate each dance.
The event also includes a dance showcase performance. The showcase presents dances of the adjudicator’s choice and allows dancers an additional opportunity to perform non-competitively.
