July 26 – Free the Trees
Engage in a guided tree planting activity by Root for Trees, join Alberta Science Network for bark rubbing and Tree IDing and learn all about tree trunks by exploring tree cookies with the Northern Forestry Centre! As you will be engaging in tree planting activities, we recommend you wear close-toed shoes for this event.
August 9 – Fish Tales
Discover the types of life you can find in water by pond dipping with the City of Edmonton Pest Management Lab, get your hands on some slippery fish with Cold Lake Fish Hatchery and Alberta Environment and Protected Areas – Water Projects Management team, and join Alberta Amphibian and Reptile Conservancy to expand your knowledge on Amphibians and reptiles!
August 16 – Nuts about Wildlife
Tag squirrels and document different species with experts from MacEwan University, learn about wildlife from an Alberta Fish & Wildlife Officer and take part in a nature walk on beautiful trails at John Janzen Nature Center!
August 23 – Guardians of Nature
In this festival-style event, families will explore the nature stations at their own pace. Complete your passport by visiting all activity stations and earn a prize!
